Local Truck Drivers Needed in Austin & San Antonio

Job Description

Our truck drivers are responsible for safely loading, securing, transporting, and unloading by pallet jack, dolly, or hand, multiple stops each day. Drivers are also responsible for keeping their truck clean and inspected for safe operation. Additionally, drivers are responsible for professional demeanor and interaction with all persons encountered each day.

Job Responsibilities

• Transport finished goods and materials by 26’ box truck to and from customer warehouse or distribution center to job-site

• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and deliver to shop for preventative maintenance

• Communicate with dispatch and/or customers and meet delivery schedules

• Log each job stop from pick up to delivery and record proof of delivery and fuel receipts

• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, and route designations) as well as with company policies and procedures.

• Safely maneuver truck into loading or unloading positions

• Acknowledge daily dispatch and verify delivery instructions

• Report defects, accidents or violations

Job Requirements

• At least 24 years old

• Valid Class C driving license

• Proven work experience as a box truck driver

• Possess and maintain a smartphone

• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, smart phone, smart phone apps, etc)

• Proficiency with delivery equipment (lift gate, pallet jack, hand carts, etc)

• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs

• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly

• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations

• No recent moving or driving violations

• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)

• Good communication skills
